As part of our commitment to keeping our community safe, the University is offering a free flu vaccine to members of staff/PGRs who are not eligible to receive a free flu jab from the NHS. This includes all 18 – 49 year olds without a qualifying underlying health condition*, or who are otherwise ineligible through the NHS scheme.
Due to popular demand, the 7 and 8 November are now fully booked. Additional appointments are now available on the morning of Friday 18 November. Vaccinations will take place at 26 University Road, Highfield Campus (opposite Highfield Pharmacy).
Vaccinations will be administered by the local Highfield Pharmacy. On the day of their vaccination, eligible staff will need to print off and bring a completed consent form and their staff ID to their appointment.
As there are a limited number of vaccines available, eligible staff/PGRs are encouraged to book an appointment ASAP.
*Free vaccinations under the NHS are offered to the following individuals, who are therefore excluded from our University’s clinic offer:
- All children aged 2 to 3
- All primary and secondary school pupils up to and including Year 11
- Those aged six months to under 50 years in clinical risk groups
- Pregnant women
- Those aged 50 years and over
- People in residential care
- Unpaid carers
- Close contacts of people with weakened immune systems
