Widening Participation and Social Mobility Student Advisory Board: Open for staff submissions

Established in January 2021, the Widening Participation and Social Mobility (WPSM) Student Advisory Board works to review strategies linked to the University’s Access and Participation Plan, inform the Widening Participation Operations Group and provide representative student voice.

The Student Advisory Board is comprised of 30 undergraduate students from a range of backgrounds currently under-represented at the University, including students from low-income backgrounds, mature students and those from Black, Asian and minoritized backgrounds.

Staff from across the University are welcome to submit topics for discussion, if they feel their work would benefit from the input of our diverse board of Student Advisors. Previous topics discussed with the board include EDI’s Reverse Mentoring Scheme, WPSM’s student shadow scheme and CHEP’s Education for All project.

If you’re interested in presenting to the Student Advisory Board then please complete the Staff Submission Form, and detail the project or workstream you’d like to share. Please get in touch as soon as possible should you be interested in presenting to the Student Advisory Board, as spaces get booked up in advance.
