The Editorial Style Guide offers the guidance and information you need to keep your writing on brand, creative and high quality.

Whether your role involves writing regularly, or you only craft the occasional email, the Style Guide will help you to stay consistent with the University’s brand and tone of voice, while boosting your confidence with words.

Sections include:

  • University style: how we write and format particular words and phrases (such as dates, names, and degree information) as well as spelling and grammar advice
  • Brand and tone of voice: bringing the University’s personality and voice to life through your words, and aligning your work with our brand
  • Inclusive language: making your writing accessible and inclusive
  • Glossary: guidance for specific words
  • Helpful resources: information on Plain English, proofing, editing, case-study writing and more
  • Training and workshops: watch online training modules, or find out more about how we can help you further.

The Editorial Style Guide is designed to be continually updated, so check back regularly for the latest guidance and information.

We recommend saving the Guide in your bookmarks, so you can refer to it whenever you need to.

Happy writing!
