The guest speaker for November’s ‘In conversation with our research leaders’ is Professor Nicky Marsh. The event is on Wednesday 9 November 10:00 – 11:00 and is open to all staff and PGRs. Book your place for this MS Teams meeting via StaffBook or PGR Manager.
Nicky Marsh is a Professor of Contemporary Literary and Cultural Studies. She is also the Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Director of the Southampton Institute for Arts and Humanities.
Nicky researches the intersections between finance and culture, examining the ways in which economic ideas – money, risk, credit, value and debt – have been given an imaginary and everyday form.
She will reflect on the challenges thrown up by a career in research and how she overcame them.
Dr Yaniv Hanoch, Professor of Decision Sciences, Southampton Business School and a CHEP colleague, has been running the ‘In conversation’ series since 2021, reaching out to colleagues across the University (and beyond). This is a great opportunity to meet and hear their personal stories as well as ask questions.
