Applications are open for 10,000 Able Interns

Text reads '10,000 Able Interns. Connecting students with disabilities to paid internships.

The current rate of disability employment in the UK is 52%, in comparison to 81% for non-disabled people.

10,000 Able Interns is a newly-launched programme to connect disabled students with paid internship opportunities at top-tier firms across a range of sectors. Following the success of the 10,000 Black Interns programme earlier this year, this new initiative will aim to secure at least 100 internships for disabled students across the UK in the summer of 2023, with the ultimate goal of increasing this figure to 10,000 internships over time.

The foundation is supported by the Disability Charities Consortium a group of ten disability charities that work together to make sure disabled people’s voices and experiences are reflected in UK policy making. Participating companies will be committing to mentoring disabled students and guiding them into the workplace, and increasing the number of career opportunities available over time.
