We are now inviting colleagues from across the University to be part of the graduation experience and asking for your help in making sure that this is a truly remarkable occasion that our graduates and their family will treasure.
Winter Graduation will take place at the O2 Guildhall Southampton, over three days from Tuesday 13 – Thursday 15 December 2022. There will also be drinks receptions, photography and gown return activities on Highfield Campus.
These celebrations see a return to a traditional format, and will include a platform presentation, where graduands process across the stage within their programme and each have a handshake (or equivalent gesture) and individual names read out.
Staff can fulfil a range of key roles from Graduand Usher to Esquire Bedell. As previously, staff will be provided with lunch and an event uniform to wear. More details on these roles as well as the ceremony schedule can be found on the Graduation Updates SharePoint site.
If you’d like to be involved, please have a conversation with your line manager about supporting the event. If you are available, please complete this form by Friday 18 November.
Upon completion of the form, the Graduation team will contact individuals about their shift times, roles, accessibility requirements and how to join an upcoming briefing session. Training at the venue will take place on 12 December, 3-5pm. If you cannot attend the training, you will still receive a briefing before your first shift.
