As part of this year’s Anti-Bullying Week, we are raising a bespoke flag designed by Dr Nik Mahon (Principal Teaching Fellow and Programme Leader MA Global Advertising and Branding at Winchester School of Art), on Highfield Campus today (Tuesday 15 November).
If you have not seen the earlier Anti-Bulling Week SUSSED update already, the flag was the winning design in a staff and student competition.
Dr Nik Mahon told us that: “The sunflower stands tall and proud, and I felt that this could be an interesting and meaningful way to symbolise the courage taken to stand-up to bullying.” This is a particularly potent reflection this Anti-Bullying Week where the theme is “Reach Out”.
Available support and resource:
- Report and Support provides a way to access support as well as being a tool for reporting any form of bullying, harassment, discrimination or abuse.
- Active Bystander training will soon be available to all students, so we are better able to challenge inappropriate language, behaviour and decision making. If you are interested in Active Bystander training, please complete this form and we will let you know how to book onto these sessions.
