Contribute to research to improve women’s experience of active travel

Rachel Hayward, Post Graduate Researcher in the Centre for Human-Centred AI (HCAI), is looking for participants to take part in a focus group study as part of her PhD research. The study aims to look at how technology can help with the challenge of women’s personal safety with a particular focus on active travel (making journeys by physically active means, like walking, cycling, wheeling or scooting).

She is looking for women, aged over 18, to take part in a focus group that will take place online using Zoom and last approximately 1 hour. Ideally you would have some experience using technology for travel planning or recording activity (such as Google Maps, Public Transit Planning Applications or Activity Trackers).

To find out more and to register your interest please complete the short survey at the following link:

Once the survey and consent form has been filled out, Rachel will contact participants to arrange a mutually suitable time and date for the focus group.
