We want the University campuses and our local community to be an inclusive, safe and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. We are delighted to announce that SUSU have launched a new campaign today (Thursday 24 November) to help tackle sexual misconduct in the night-time economy.
Through working with the Violence Reduction Unit, Southampton City Council, Solent Student Union and other organisations across Southampton, the campaign aims to develop support systems and strategies to minimise sexual assault, harassment and violence as well as well to support victims/survivors.
Aycha, Vice President for Welfare and Community at SUSU, said: “Our top priority is making sure that our community and students are safe and that is why we have developed this constructive and ambitious campaign.”
Oliver, SUSU Union President, added: “The safety of students is of the utmost importance to SUSU. The Southampton Says Enough campaign brilliantly embodies this and demonstrates SUSU’s commitment to and prioritisation of our members. I look forward to seeing the positive impact we can make in this area.”
