The Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) upcoming events and workshops

Below are the events and workshops planned for the Academic network for December. Please keep an eye on the CHEP events pages for any updates.

Education focused events

5 December – Advancing your educational portfolio

Gain practical examples of how you can develop your educational portfolio in a way that complements the ‘day job’, supporting enhanced effectiveness as well as enhancing your CV.

14 December – PREP Reflective writing for Fellowship workshop

This online workshop offers space to further the writing of your portfolio with an emphasis on writing reflectively.

14 December – Opening academic skills ‘windows’ in teaching: 3 short activities on critical thinking (in-person)

This session will demonstrate 3-5 short critical thinking activities to integrate into your regular subject teaching.

14 December – Success on the Education Focused Promotion Pathway (in-person)

Explore how to succeed on the Education Promotion Pathway with examples from colleagues.

Research focused events

7 December – Engaging with the Media for Policy Impact

Dr Michael Head demystifies engaging with the media and explores its substantive role in communicating research for policy impact.

7 December – Examining a Doctoral Thesis

If you are new to examining degree students, this will consider best practice from experienced examiners.

8 December – Using Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise to help your career development

Find out how getting involved in Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise activities can further your career development and may help towards your promotion.
