Flying the flag for International Day of People with Disabilities

This weekend, on Saturday 3 December 2022, it is the annual International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPWD). The United Nations identifies IDPWD as a time for ‘celebration, learning, action and optimism’, and this year’s theme is: ‘Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world’.

Flying the flag on Highfield Campus
We are celebrating the day ahead of the weekend by flying the purple flag on campus tomorrow (Thursday 1 December). Staff and students are invited to join the UoS Disability Staff Network, Wendy Appleby (Disability Equality Sponsor), and Shaun Williams (UoS Disability Staff Network Senior Leader Champion) at 9:30 on Jubilee Plaza for the occasion.
