Winter break closure information

Our academic and office buildings will be closed from Friday 23 December 2022 until Tuesday 3 January 2023.

If you’re a staff member who requires access to University buildings during this period, please keep in mind that you’ll need to comply with out of hours procedures as described on the Out of Hours Authorisation form.

When risk assessing an activity during these times, we’d ask you to keep in mind the following:

• Can people working on their own undertake the activity safely?
• Do you know how to contact University Security and do you have the ability to do so?
• Is there a need to check in and out with a nominated contact or University security?
• Check the availability of travel links. Public transport links such as rail and bus will operate on reduced schedules over the holiday period.

Library 

Some of our library sites will have limited opening hours during the winter break, offering a supported environment in which to study or work.

The Student Hub – 24/7 support for all students

The Student Hub will remain open throughout the break – contactable 24/7. If students have any issues or need support, they can speak to an advisor instantly via the online chat, by email or by calling 02380 599 599. University catering outlets

The Hartley Library Starbucks will be open 08:00 – 16:00 on 23, 28, 29, 30 December. All other catering outlets will be closed throughout the winter break. The Terrace Restaurant will close from 22 December.
