Dr Erika Corradini (Principal Teaching Fellow, CHEP), is leading an ‘Introduction to Learning and Teaching’ session that is taking place online, Wednesday 1 February, 10:00 – 15:30.
It is aimed at all teaching staff, especially anyone new to the University of Southampton or those returning to teaching after a research break and will help you make a start on developing your education practice.
By the end of this event, participants should be able to:
- Recognise the role of the university teacher in relation to other academic roles, i.e. researcher, tutor, mentor etc.
- Identify the key elements of learning and teaching practice in HE.
- Define what students should learn and design a learning and teaching session.
- Familiarise themselves with the UK Professional Standard Framework for Learning and Teaching (UKPSF) and share examples of practice.
This workshop is designed to support you in managing your education role/s (however big or small) and help towards building your education portfolio and teaching expertise.
CHEP will be running several follow-on activities throughout the year so keep an eye on the CHEP events pages as well as staying up to date on news by regularly checking the Education Focused Network channel.
