After a very successful inaugural event in 2022, the University of Southampton is launching the Outstanding Alumni Awards 2023.
These Awards will showcase the impact that a degree from the University of Southampton can have and provide in-year and ongoing opportunities for promotion and reputation raising. The Awards will also support our wider efforts to engage our alumni in volunteering, events, brand advocacy, careers and philanthropy. Winners will be invited to speak at graduation, in a similar capacity to Honorary Graduates, providing an opportunity for them to inspire our graduating students.
We invite you to submit your nominations for these Awards by Thursday 2 February. For each nomination you will be asked to specify category and your rationale.
There are 3 categories for these Awards and a total of 4 Awards to be given out. The categories are:
- Lifetime Achievement Award for an alumnus/a who has made an outstanding contribution to society over an extended period of time and is highly regarded in their chosen career field.
- Rising Star Award for an alumnus/a up to five years out from graduation, who has made an outstanding contribution in their field or to society.
- Alumni Service Award x 2 for dedicated service to promote the importance of the University through volunteering, transformative philanthropy and/or support to our students, the wider University, or our alumni communities.
Guidance for nominators:
- The Outstanding Alumni Awards are intended to recognise the achievements of Southampton’s talented alumni across the world and the ongoing contribution they make to the University’s reputation as ambassadors and exemplars for our students.
- Please consider the full breadth of our community when making your nominations – the hope is that these awards will shine a light on outstanding individuals whose stories we may not have previously shared with our wider community.
