All staff and students at the University of Southampton are invited to take part in a short online survey looking at experiences of dealing with gynaecological conditions and the support available for these conditions from the university.
There are many people working or studying at Southampton who suffer with conditions such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, Fibroids, Ovarian Cysts and chronic pelvic pain, with or without a formal diagnosis.
The survey has been produced by a research team of staff and students from across the university, and asks about topics such as:
- Your experiences of dealing with these sorts of conditions whilst working or studying.
- What kinds of support services you are aware of or have accessed.
- What you think could be improved in terms of support from the university: from line managers and supervisors all the way up to university-wide support services.
The research team is also planning an event for International Women’s Day which will include guest speakers and the chance to find out about the support and reasonable adjustments available to staff and students who are dealing with gynaecological conditions.
