The REACH (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) Network are delighted to invite you to their next in-person event, where they will be joined by the award winning Shelina Permalloo.
Growing up with her family in Southampton and learning to cook from her mother and aunt, Shelina entered the food industry with a splash by winning BBC’s Masterchef in 2012. Her achievements following the show include opening her acclaimed Mauritian street food restaurant, Lakaz Maman; writing successful cookbooks; and being a regular guest chef on TV and food festivals. Shelina was also recently the Chair of Southampton’s City of Culture bid, championing the city, our diverse community and our rich history.
Join us to hear what role food plays in the way Shelina celebrates her culture and faith, and so much more, on Wednesday 8 March 2023 at 13:00 in the Hartley Suite. This free event is open to all members of the University of Southampton, however spaces are limited so please book in advance.
