Kaushal Shah received an award for his work in the fields of Business and Innovation. Kaushal is founder and CEO of envoPAP – a UK-based company creating innovative and circular packaging solutions to reduce unnecessary deforestation and air pollution and maximise the usage of waste.  Kaushal came up with the idea for EnvoPAP whilst studying at Southampton and has since gone on to be honoured by Forbes magazine in their 30 under 30 list for Europe. Kaushal continues to support the University, giving his time and expertise to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Reshma Rao received an award in the Education, Science and Innovation category. Reshma is a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow at Imperial College London, where she works on understanding atomic-level (electro)chemical mechanisms at catalytic interfaces to discover the next generation materials for energy conversion technologies. After completing her degree at Southampton, Reshma completed a PhD at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Reshma is passionate about education and promoting diversity in science.

Speaking about the Honours, Professor Jane Falkingham, VP International and Engagement said:

“We are immensely proud of Kaushal and Reshma for being recognised as outstanding young achievers for their contributions to their fields.  Their achievements demonstrate the incredible potential of our international students, and the importance of international study opportunities to improve and advance science and society.”

In addition to the India UK Achievers Honours, the University will be celebrating the significant contributions of our alumni to society, industry or the University community at our annual Outstanding Alumni Awards, which will take place in summer 2023.
