IMPORTANT – Immediate closure of Boldrewood campus due to water supply disruption

We are aware of an ongoing and evolving situation with Southern Water which has caused disruptions to water supply in several Southampton and Winchester areas.

Our Boldrewood campus, Glen Eyre Halls of Residence and the Southampton Science Park are currently affected.

Due to the water supply issues, Boldrewood campus will be closed with immediate effect for the remainder of today (Thursday 16 February), tomorrow (Friday 17 February) and over the weekend. Visit Day activities which were due to take place this weekend on Boldrewood are being postponed and visitors are being contacted with an alternative date. The rest of the Visit Day will go ahead as planned.

We are exploring alternative teaching venues for those affected today and tomorrow. Colleagues and students are asked to work or study from home if possible or to make use of alternative work/study spaces at other campuses, such as Highfield.

No other campuses are currently affected, but we are monitoring closely any further impact.

If you are in Glen Eyre Halls of Residence, you will have already been contacted, including via email, with additional advice on the alternative toilets, showers and kitchen facilities available to you. Bottled water will be supplied.

This is a continually evolving situation which we are monitoring closely and we will update when further information is available. Southern Water is advising that disruption will continue until at least the weekend. Please keep an eye on the Southern Water Twitter, and the Southern Water incident page.
