Invitation to Neurodivergent Staff Safe Listening Space

Following the launch of the new Neurodivergent Staff sub-group, staff and PGRs are invited to join the Neurodivergent Staff Safe Listening Space on Wednesday 15 March, 10:00-11:00.

The term neurodivergent describes people who experience the world differently and can include those with ADHD, Autism, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Tourette’s syndrome. Being neurodivergent can give an individual strengths, but it can also bring challenges.

The Neurodivergent Staff Safe Listening Space aims to provide an opportunity for confidential, open discussion focused on lived experience in a safe environment. Safe Listening Spaces will be held via Teams, and sessions will not be recorded to protect the confidentially of attendees. Any key themes will be anonymously shared to help advance the work to build a more inclusive university community.

The Safe Listening Space will be facilitated by:

Libby Barton, Equality Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, Chair of the Staff Disability Network and

Melissa Allada, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer

To book your place, email [email protected] asking to be added to the Neurodivergent Staff Safe Listening Space session on Wednesday 15 March 10:00-11:00.

Safe Listening Spaces provide space for discussion rather than the sharing of professional or expert knowledge. There is no agenda in this discussion for staff and PGRs. All attendees are only expected to share what they feel comfortable with.
