Research focused
Introduction to Research Computing Series
This invaluable beginner’s course introduces some of the core skills and tools needed to produce reliable, sustainable, and reproducible research software. Dates throughout March.
Tuesday 7 March – Public Policy Southampton: How to Win at Policy (in-person)
Demystify the process of engaging with public policy actors and highlight support available from Public Policy|Southampton (PPS).
Tuesday 21 March – Writing retreat for The Conversation (in-person)
Join us at Chilworth Manor for a day tailored towards public writing, with training sessions, tips and advice, and dedicated writing time.
Tuesday 28 March – KEE: Sharing good practice in partnership working
Use this time to share experiences and lessons learned from partnership working activities in Knowledge Exchange & Enterprise.

Wednesday 1 / 15 / 29 March – Developing Inclusive Practice March workshops
Sessions on supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds, engaging and supporting mature students, and supporting care experienced and estranged students.
Wednesday 15 March or Thursday 16 March – Staff Wellbeing – Personal Academic Tutoring Training
The HSR Staff Wellbeing team delivers a session on wellbeing in the workplace, covering what is individual wellbeing, workplace wellbeing and stress and how to recognise it in yourself and others.
Tuesday 28 March – Supporting Disabled Students at the University
In this session, the Student Disability and Inclusion team will discuss a variety of support mechanisms and services aimed at supporting disabled students.
Thursday 30 March – Developing Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)
This event centres on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and will provide an opportunity for reflecting on the benefits of a scholarly approach to supporting student learning.
