Embedding the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals in the curriculum (online)

Goal 4 of the UoS Sustainability Strategy aims to ensure that sustainability is a part of every UoS programme of study by 2025.

A workshop led by Professor Simon Kemp is taking place on Wednesday 29 March, 14:00 – 15:00. This will provide a brief overview of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), outline work already undertaken to map curricula to the SDGs and promote available support and guidance for embedding SDGs into programme curricula including a new toolkit for Programme Approval and Review.

Dr Mohamed Hassan-Sayed will provide examples of how the SDGs have been embedded successfully in Chemical Engineering programmes through learning outcomes, learning activities and assessment.

This workshop will benefit anyone interested in sustainability education and may be of particular interest to programme teams working towards embedding the SDGs through Programme Approval and Review.

At the end of this event, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and how they relate to education at UoS
  • Identify guidance and support for embedding the UN SDGs into programme curricula
  • Recognise examples of how to meaningfully embed the UN SDGs through learning outcomes, learning activities and assessment

Book your place via Staffbook (type Development Goals in the search box).
