The Doctoral College are pleased to announce that nominations for their Doctoral College Awards are now open for 2023. These awards allow us to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our doctoral community.
If you know a PGR who has achieved something remarkable this year, or made a great contribution to the doctoral community, we encourage you to nominate them in one of the following categories:
These awards recognise the contribution of doctoral researchers to a research group, School, Faculty or University research strategy.
Doctoral supervisors are eligible to nominate their PGRs for this award. Your Faculty Director of Graduate School will communicate the local process and deadlines for making School and Faculty awards in your area. For further information please visit the Doctoral College Events SharePoint site.
These awards recognise the achievements of doctoral researchers in a variety of different areas, including enterprise, citizenship and community, and public engagement and outreach. There is also a special commendation award for nominations which do not fit in the aforementioned categories, but still deserve to be recognised.
Both supervisors and PGRs can nominate a PGR for the Director’s Awards. The deadline for nominations in this category is Monday 8 May.

The Student Experience Awards 2023
Nominations are also open for the University’s first-ever Student Experience Awards 2023. These awards have been introduced to recognise, reward, and celebrate students who go above and beyond their academic studies to contribute to our cultures and values.
Please consider nominating your PGRs for these awards, to help shine a light on doctoral achievements. The deadline to nominate is Sunday 26 March and you can view the award categories on SharePoint.
