In the recent Mentoring Matters webinar, Katie Coultas, Employee Development Advisor and Executive Coach from our Leadership and Management Development team, explored what mentoring is; how you can decide if it is right for your personal development; and how to create a successful mentoring relationship. The recording of this session is now available to watch on SharePoint.
Mentoring can have a positive impact on both the mentor and mentee through learning from others’ knowledge, experience, and perspectives, and can be a powerful tool for your continuing professional development.
If you’re considering becoming a mentor or mentee, you can also visit our mentoring pages on the professional development site to access guidance, tips and resources. Your Line Manager, Director, Head of Department/School or colleagues may be able to offer their insight from previous experiences or help you to find out about existing or potential mentoring opportunities within your area.
There are some local mentoring initiatives in place that support staff and students on a variety of topics, to find out more about these please visit the getting started and further resources pages.
