The Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) and the Financial Support Team are hosting an online CPD workshop on Thursday 20 April, 12:00-13:00. The workshop will provide a brief outline of the work of the Financial Support Team and their role in assisting students struggling financially to remain in education. It will also explore the findings of the Student Money Questionnaire, which aims to identify how ‘money confident’ students are, and the impact financial uncertainty has on the student experience.
Aims of the event:
- To gain an understanding of areas of financial concern for students and to be able to recognise the possible impact this has on their studies and wellbeing.
- To gain an understanding of what financial support can be accessed at the university and to signpost students to the correct team.
- To understand and demystify the process for a student to access financial support at the university.
- To assist in the shaping of future financial interventions through qualitative data.
The session will be led by Melissa McAteer, Client Services Advisor, Widening Participation and Social Mobility (WPSM) and Jill Lipscombe, Financial Support Advisor (WPSM).
