In Conversation with our Research Leaders: Professor Richard Oreffo

The popular In conversation with our research leaders’ series continues on Wednesday 26 April 11:00 – 12:00 with Professor Richard Oreffo (Musculoskeletal Science). This event is open to all staff as well as PGR Students and will be hosted on Microsoft Teams.

Dr Yaniv Hanoch, Associate Professor, Southampton Business School and a CHEP colleague, has been running the ‘In Conversation’ series since 2021, reaching out to academics across the University (and beyond). Speakers discuss their triumphs, the challenges they have met along the way and how they overcome them, how they kept their motivation and productivity, and other personal lessons. This is a great opportunity to meet and hear their personal stories as well and ask questions.

Professor Richard OC Oreffo holds the chair of Musculoskeletal Science and is co-founder of the Centre for Human Development, Stem Cells and Regeneration. He is recognised for his work on skeletal biology, skeletal stem cell differentiation and bone regeneration.

Richard has trained 54 MD and PhD interdisciplinary scientists since 2002 and published widely with breakthrough publications on skeletal stem cells, osteoarthritis and bone regeneration and holds 8 patents.

In 2015, he was awarded a Doctor of Science by the University of Oxford in bone regenerative medicine.
