CHEP Enhancement Funds Available to Develop Assessment and Feedback Practices

The Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) is inviting applications for funds of up to £5,000 to conduct a scholarly education or action research study.  Your study will be aimed at enhancing existing assessment and feedback practices by embedding employability in learning outcomes and exploring artificial intelligence in assessment for students.

Deadline for applications is 31 May 2023 17:00 and all funds must be spent by 31 July 2024.

This round of funding encourages joint efforts and collaborations across departments, schools, and faculties in identifying shared themes and addressing common challenges in assessments or in delivering employability interventions or learning outcomes for students.   You should have at least one co-investigator from another department, school or faculty in the application.  This fund will be ideal for scholarly work that will add to the education portfolio of staff, particularly those on the education-focused pathway, but it is open to all to apply.

Submissions should align with one of six priority themes.

  • Authentic assessment
  • Adapting assessment in an artificial intelligence context
  • Enhancing students’ employability or entrepreneurship attributes or identities
  • Promoting employability to all student groups
  • Redesigning or co-designing assessment and feedback practices to link with employability outcomes
  • Any other new assessment or feedback methods

Further details of the criteria can be found on CHEP’s Enhancement Fund SharePoint page with the associated form and timeline.
