Our technicians play a vital role in enabling our research, enterprise, and educational activities across all our faculties, from managing complex systems and equipment through to delivering research and demonstrating technicians to our students. The Technician of the Year Awards are a perfect opportunity to recognise and celebrate our colleagues in the technical field.
Nominations for the Technician of the Year Awards open today and will close on Friday 16 June. The awards have three categories and all colleagues and students can nominate teams or individuals.

- Contribution to Research & Enterprise
- Outstanding Technical Team
More information on the awards, and how to nominate can be found on the Award nomination guide page. Winners will be announced at the Technician’s Conference on Wednesday 19 July.
The Technician’s Conference will open be held at from 9:30 – 15:00 on 19 July at Boldrewood Campus. Registration for the event is open and all technical staff are invited to join to discuss challenges, opportunities to help inform the University action plan to ensure we meet the needs of our technicians.
