Updated 28 June 2023: The Complete University Guide has today announced an update to their 2024 league table as a result of data issues from some providers. The revised guide places Southampton at 17th.
The University of Southampton has been placed at 16th in the Complete University Guide 2024, maintaining our inclusion in the top 20.
This is one place up on our ranking in the 2021 Complete University Guide, although a small drop on last year.
Overall placement in the table is based on several criteria:
- entry standards
- student satisfaction
- research excellence and intensity
- graduate prospects
- student-staff ratio
- university spending on services and facilities
- graduates receiving a first or upper second-class honours degree
- and degree completion
