We have been made aware of some footage on social media which has now been reported to the police. As such, we know that you will understand it is not something that we can speculate about.
Our University of Southampton values
We would like to remind our community that we condemn violence of any kind, and we place a high value on supporting everyone’s right to the freedom of speech: our community is underpinned by the values of tolerance, respect, and mutual support for all students and staff.
Here is a reminder of our key resources and expectations to help us work together to maintain our inclusive and diverse culture:
- The Student Charter
The Student Charter is a reference point for all students and staff that sets out our expectations, rights and responsibilities as members of the community. If you have not done so already, please visit the University website to view our Student Charter. - Report and Support tool
We stand against all forms of discrimination, harassment and bullying. Staff and students can use the Report and Support tool to report unacceptable behaviour anonymously or with details in order to access support. Find out more about using the tool on the Report and Support website. - Student safety
Made in collaboration with Hampshire Police, the Student Safety site is an internal platform where you can find official and reliable information on how to keep safe from various issues that could arise. Explore the Student Safety site on SharePoint. - We are here to support you
The Student Hub is the first point of contact for all students seeking support including questions and concerns relating to fees, financial support, accommodation, wellbeing, disability, careers and course administration. The SUSU Advice Centre also provides free, independent, and confidential advice and information on practical matters so you can get the right help at the right time.
