The University Council has appointed Bhupinder Siran, Head of Strategic Business Partnerships in iSolutions, as the new non-academic member of our governing body for a three year term.
Bhupinder said:
“It is a genuine privilege to be successful with my application to join Council. As the University’s governing body, Council is responsible for setting the strategic direction and monitoring progress, and I believe that the experience I bring from the engagements I have in my role as Head of Strategic Business Partnerships, as well as the insight from my roles in the EDI space, will allow me to contribute my unique perspectives, skills, and dedication to shaping our institution’s future”.
As Head of Strategic Business Partnerships, Bhupinder Siran plays a pivotal role in connecting iSolutions with the broader University community, facilitating a deeper understanding of their unique business needs and goals. He is also the chair of the University’s REACH (Race, Ethnicity And Cultural Heritage) Network, leading and participating in initiatives to raise awareness and champion race equality and cultural diversity at the University.
Speaking about the appointment, Philip Greenish, Chair of Council said:
“The panel, convened by the Council Nominations Committee, interviewed a number of very strong applicants, from a range of roles across the University. Bhupinder particularly impressed the panel with his open, inclusive approach, his engagement in many aspects of the University beyond his ‘day job’ and his passion for the University and strategy. He gave some excellent answers to the panel’s questions. We are looking forward to the value he will add to the Council.”
