The 21st annual Festival of Social Science will be returning 21 October – 17 November this year, with the University of Southampton taking part for the fifth time. Applications for events sponsorship are now open.
This year, the festival will be mostly in-person, with the opportunity to host both online and hybrid events.
This is an excellent opportunity for researchers to take part in the UK’s biggest celebration of social science research and engage with a wide range of non-academic audiences including young people, the public, third sector, businesses or government.
Applications for sponsorship of up to £1,000 per event can be made. Applications from all spheres of Social Science are welcomed and an Event Leader Pack will be made available shortly.
The main theme for this year’s festival is ‘Lifelong Wellbeing’, a broad theme which aims to celebrate any social science research across Southampton and Hampshire. Events can be on any aspect of health and wellbeing and offers the opportunity to include events on the 75th anniversary if the NHS. The festival will additionally welcome other social science themes, which encourage, support and create opportunities for social science researchers to engage with public and young people audiences.
