The School of Education is delighted to report the outcome of the recent OfSTED inspection of our initial teacher training programmes.
The report provides testimony to the high professional standards, evident over many years, of our PGCE staff, School partners, mentors, and professional service colleagues. Our students, early career teachers and School partners have all celebrated the outstanding quality of our initial teacher education and demonstrated that our curriculum design, pedagogic intent and research informed practice is exactly as our students and partners experience the PGCE. Students ‘thrive’ on these programmes and are ‘very well prepared to join the profession as early career teachers’.
One of our Students quoted in the report captured the ethos the School strives for: “The culture of teacher training is of kindness and care, as well as pushing us to be the best teachers we can be.”
