The CHEP Festival of Learning and Teaching is celebrating its fifth anniversary and continues to offer a platform for our educators to exchange ideas and share best practice.
This year’s festival will be a mix of online and in-person sessions over two days and will include keynote speakers, panel discussions, and workshops. The theme for the festival is “Empowering Students for Successful Futures” based on the strategic priorities to develop assessment and embed employability.

Wednesday 13 September – Online via MS Teams 09:30 – 15:00
The day starts with a keynote by Professor Simon Walker on the theme of Advancing Assessment, followed by parallel workshops and presentations. Attendees then choose from strategic workshops on developing assessment practice, embedding employability, generative artificial intelligence, and developing online programmes.
Thursday 14 September – In-person, B100 Highfield Campus 11:00 – 16:30
Kick the day off with a celebration event that includes the VLE awards and recognising colleagues who have achieved AdvanceHE fellowships.
Thursday’s keynote speaker is Dr Bob Gilworth (University of Huddersfield) on the theme of embedding employability relating to the Successful Futures project. Join colleagues for a networking lunch, rounding off the day with parallel talks and workshops.
