The University will continue for a further period to waive all charges for parking permits as we start the new academic year, whilst we progress the previously announced plans for a more flexible model for parking charges. This flexibility will support the more widespread use of hybrid working, as well as preparing for the future development of our estate. Please continue to display your permits when parking on site.
We will provide a further update on timelines once the scheme provider is secured in 2024.
The new permits and day rates will be based on your salary level and will continue to be split based on your vehicle’s CO2 emissions, with higher emission vehicles paying a higher rate, matching the previous permit structure.
Parking permits remain the best way to manage parking demand, encourage reduced car use and help to improve sustainability across our estate. Income from car parking contributes to the budget to support sustainable transport, including on site cycle storage and our Uni-Link bus services.
Information on sustainable transport options can be found on our Transport website.
Permits are available for staff who live 3+ miles away from Highfield campus.
More information, including how to apply, will be shared with colleagues ahead of the installation of the new scheme.
