Portswood Corridor project consultation open

In autumn 2022, Southampton City Council’s Transforming Cities Team conducted their Phase 1 Consultation on the proposed Portswood Corridor from the Lodge Road junction to the Highfield Lane/St. Denys Road junction. Results of this phase can be found on the Connecting Southampton website. As indicated in the report, a second stage was deemed necessary to gather more comprehensive information.

The Southampton City Council’s Transforming Cities Team has announced that the Phase 2 Consultation on Portswood Corridor Scheme is live on the SCC website and will be open until Sunday 1 October. Due to the proximity of this proposal to our campuses, and the presence of a sizable portion of our student population in the Portswood area, individuals are encouraged to participate in the consultation as they see fit.

In addition to the online consultation, the team will be running in-person sessions if you wish to attend.

Local residents’ associations will also be hosting member/public events for individuals to see new plans and have any concerns answered by officers present.

Tuesday 12 September 17:45-19:15 Highfield Church Hall – Highfield Residents’ Association (HRA)

Tuesday 19 September in the evening at Avenue Church – Outer Avenue Residents’ Association (OARA)

The consultation can be found on the Connecting Southampton website.
