The Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) September workshops

There are several workshops during September to support learning, teaching, research and KEE that are open to all staff.  Events do change so please visit the CHEP events listings page to check.

Researcher / KEE focused  

Every Monday and Thursday – Power Hour of Writing
If you have something to write, or even a task to complete to support your writing, but you just can’t find the time or motivation, this could be the space you need.   

Friday 15 September – Meet the Scientist (in-person)
This LifeLab training session at Southampton General Hospital is designed to prepare researchers to participate in Meet the Scientist events. Academic staff, research staff, doctoral researchers and technical staff from any discipline are welcome.  

Tuesday 26 September – Sharing good practice in… KEE for civic and community engagement
This is an opportunity to share experiences and collate lessons learned from projects engaging KEE for civic and community engagement, including projects related to social justice, climate change and sustainability. 

Education focused 

Wednesday 6 and Wednesday 20 September- An Introduction to Learning and Teaching in HE (in-person)
Whether you are new to teaching in the UK or at this university, are returning to teaching after a research break or interact with students in your daily job this workshop is for you. 

Wednesday 13 September – CHEP Festival of Learning and Teaching (online) 
The day starts with a keynote by Prof Simon Walker on the theme of Advancing Assessment, followed by parallel workshops and presentations.   

Thursday 14 September – CHEP Festival of Learning and Teaching (in-person)
A celebration event that includes the VLE awards, a networking lunch, parallel talks and workshops.
