Personal Academic Training 23/24 commences in October

Being a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) is a key part of the role of academics and one that has immense potential in ensuring the success of our students. As an institution, we know that effective personal academic tutoring promotes student persistence, enhances success, and helps address differential attainment.

The 23/24 training schedule is commencing in October with: 

PAT Training: Roles and responsibilities hosted Dr Ann Bingham (CHEP) & Julia Kelly (Humanities). 

Choose from Wednesday 11 October or Wednesday 18 October 14:00 – 15:00 (online). 

This online session begins with the PAT essential guide. You will explore the roles and responsibilities of the Personal Academic Tutor and the relationship with the Senior Tutor; what do students understand by your role; and how you can set expectations and prepare to meet your students.

Future workshops will include PAT Support, Workplace Wellbeing, Disability and Inclusion, EDI, Student Wellbeing, Widening Participation and Professional Recognition in Advising.
