The funding will span seven months (13 November 2023 to 14 June 2024) for collaborative projects aligned to six place-based challenges:

  • Local skills, lifelong learning, and the future of work
  • Identity and pride in place for the region
  • The role, use, and access to green/blue spaces
  • Infrastructures and net zero in the central South
  • Addressing mental health and health inequalities
  • Power structures and devolution for the central South

Project activities under the NTF can take diverse forms, including collaborative research; conducting surveys; organising policy-related workshops or seminars; training; building networks and relationships; co-developing tools or resources; and more. These projects are intended as foundational steps toward broader initiatives, fostering or deepening relationships with evidence users and creating pathways to impact.

For more info please see the New Things Fund webpage.

Awardees will receive CftS support, including meetings, policy impact guidance, and networking. For more info and collaboration inquiries, contact [email protected]. The closing date for applications is 19 October 2023.
