Public & community engagement projects showcase

The Public Engagement Team are excited to have the opportunity to showcase some of the Public & Community Engagement projects supported by PERu seed-funding in 2022/23 at our Showcase event on Wednesday 8 November 11:00-15:00 in Garden Court

An image of three people engaging with research techology, with text "Inspire, Connect, Enable; Public and Community Engagement/PERu".

We’ll have presentations from at least nine of our awardees and an opportunity to view posters and information that they’ve created during their projects. Following the presentations there will be an informal Q&A where you can find out more.

A taster of some featured projects:

  • Raising AMR awareness via reverse socialisation
  • Living with genetic predisposition to cancer: Co-creation of visual illustrations to design accessible patient resources.
  • Developing Digital communication in the community for SPRInG
  • SO-Together Health: Working together within Southampton for better hearing and brain health.
  • Engaging students and creative writers in research on fictional role models and their carbon footprint
  • What’s the problem with Vaping?
  • Widening participation in patient and public involvement (PPI) for clinical trials at Southampton Clinical Trials Unit
  • Death Rituals & the Mexican Day of the Dead in Covid19 times
  • Windrush Portraits

Additionally, this event is an opportunity for the Public Engagement Network to meet. We have two slots for this to happen during the event; between 11:00-11:30 and during the lunch break from 12:45-13:30

We invite you to register your attendance for all or part of the event on Eventbrite.

We would love for you to stay for the whole event and hear from all our Project awardees but understand that you may not have 4 hours to give up, so please do join us for however long you can!
