We are closely monitoring the amber and yellow wind and rain weather warnings issued by the Met Office for our region ahead of Storm Ciarán moving in on Wednesday night (1 November) and into Thursday and possibly Friday.
Colleagues and students should be aware that wind and rain could cause some travel disruption, and there is also the potential for localised power outages, flooding and structural damage.
We currently do not believe we will need to suspend or alter our normal University operations and activities, but colleagues and students need to be prepared for the potential for short-notice disruption and changes.
If the Met Office warning moves from Amber to Red, we are likely to suspend some activities and encourage work and study to move online until any risk recedes.
