Our region continues to be subject to amber and yellow warnings for wind and rain overnight and into Thursday as Storm Ciarán approaches.
It seems likely there could be localised disruption to public transport and travel routes on Thursday morning in the worst affected areas. People are advised to check with their transport operator for any updates before travelling, and to travel with care avoiding, where possible, exposed or wooded areas while strong winds persist.
Currently, we intend to keep the University open as fully as possible. However, we recognise that in some cases for our community, there will be unplanned childcare commitments, and there may be a need to work, teach, or study online tomorrow, Thursday 2 November. This will also avoid the need to travel to our campuses until the impact of the storm recedes. If your teaching and learning activities are impacted, you will be contacted accordingly.
We plan for our campus facilities to remain in operation, including the Hartley Library and The Student Hub.
We will continue to monitor the situation overnight.
