Storm Ciarán update #3 – 16:30, 02/11/23

Storm Ciarán appears to be passing with Southampton so far spared the worst of the winds originally predicted, and experienced elsewhere.

The Met Office has now lifted its Amber warning for wind in our region – however, a Yellow warning for wind in our region remains until 17:00 today, and a Yellow warning for rain remains until 23:59 today.

The Itchen Bridge has now fully re-opened, but there are many road closures in place across our region due to extensive flooding and some fallen trees, and some transport networks remain impacted, including rail. Please do check with your transport operator for updates before travelling, and do take care when travelling.

A number of schools were closed today but are expected to re-open as normal tomorrow. Please check directly with your school.

The University has remained fully operational today, and we intend to be fully operational tomorrow, Friday 3 November.

Should the situation change in any way, we will of course update you.
