Personal Academic Tutoring – training workshops

Being a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) is a key part of the role of academics and one that has immense potential in ensuring the success of our students. Effective personal academic tutoring promotes student persistence, enhances success, and helps address differential attainment. The PAT Training Programme is run by the Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) in conjunction with many other colleagues and the November and December workshops are listed below.

Please book your place via Staffbook and visit the PAT Hub Training page

Disability and Inclusion with Anna McCann, Beth Lawson, Lawrence Pearman

21 November 14:00 – 15:30 or 23 November 12:00 – 13:30

The Student Disability and Inclusion team will discuss a variety of support mechanisms and services aimed at supporting disabled students.  Alongside a presentation, this interactive session explores a range of scenarios that PATs may encounter when dealing with their students.

Managing your wellbeing as a PAT with Katie Coultas (in-person, Highfield Campus)

22 November or 28 November 09:30 – 12:00 or 14 December 13:30 – 16:00
