We are aware of posts circulating on social media overnight and this morning regarding reports about suspicious incidents near our Highfield Campus. Campus Security and the police have confirmed that there were no incidents affecting our campuses, and Highfield Campus and its buildings have remained fully open at all times.
Our Campus Security team work closely with the police and were in contact with them regarding concerns circulating on social media information overnight.
The police said they were made aware of reports of a man acting suspiciously in three off-campus locations in the wider Southampton area. They have not been contacted by any victims or witnesses to any incidents, and have asked anyone with any information to contact the police online, or via 101 quoting 44230464818.
The welfare of our students and staff remains our priority, and we know it can be concerning to read such reports on social media. However please be assured we will always communicate with students and staff through our own channels if there is any reason to stay away from campus.
