Trans Voices is the UK’s first professional trans+ vocal collective, launched in 2022 with a Guardian Films documentary about trans joy in the context of the choir’s formation and debut project at Union Chapel, London.
Affiliated with world-leading alternative choir London Contemporary Voices, Trans Voices is a diverse collective of vocalists and musicians. The sound of this community is utterly distinctive – spanning from hypnotic meditative soundscapes to raw calls to action without sacrificing commercial edge.
Trans Voices featured alongside Years & Years in Absolut’s #borntomix campaign with co-founders ILĀ and Coda Nicolaeff spotlighted in a media campaign as changemakers and community trailblazers. Recently, the collective completed a series of performances at contemporary art spaces Whitechapel Gallery, Wallace Collection, and St James Gallery.
The concert is part of the UoS Music Lunchtime Concert series Autumn Programme. Entrance is free and all are welcome. Audience members must book a ticket, you can book via the Turner Sims website.
