What is Successful Futures?
Successful Futures is a three – five– year Strategic Major Project focused on embedding employability and enterprise skills into the curriculum. The overall aim is to improve Graduate Outcomes and is linked to four Strategic Plans, including the Education and Student Experience plans.
The team are pleased to announce the launch of the project SharePoint site where you can find information about the project, including the timeline, FAQs and links to training and resources.
You can meet the team and get an overview of the project in this video.
What is the current focus of the project?
Following the recent presentation at Programme Leads Network and other forums, work to implement our Successful Futures Strategic Major Project is gathering pace. Early next year a mapping exercise will take place, with colleagues identifying employability and career skills within our existing curriculum as well as any gaps.
To support colleagues there will be several training sessions over the coming months.
Should I attend a training session?
This training is for all Programme Leads and Directors of Programmes and key colleagues who will be involved in the mapping process. As well as exploring the skills model, you’ll have a chance to work with colleagues from across the university to apply this to a module in practice.
Attendance is strongly recommended for Directors of Programmes and Programme Leads to ensure we meet our target of having all our programmes mapped by May 2024.
We have up to 500 places on the training sessions so there is ample space for Programme Leads or Directors of Programmes to attend with key colleagues such as Employability Leads, Departmental Heads of Teaching, etc. and we can make different arrangements with schools where preferred.
The session will last up to 2.5 hours.
When are the training sessions?
The project SharePoint site has a Resources and Training page where you will find links to the training sessions which are running between December and January.
What’s after the training session?
After this session you will have the tools you need to start the mapping process – and our project team will be on hand to support you every step of the way.
