Launch of new Strategy Office

The University’s new Strategy Office was formally established on 2 January 2024, led by the Chief of Staff and Chief Strategy Officer Dr Giles Carden.

The Strategy Office directorate comprises:

  • Strategic Planning and Analytics Department, which brings together the Policy and Insight Team (formerly in Global Recruitment and Admissions) and the Planning and Analytics Team (formerly within Finance). This new department will provide support on strategic planning and performance analytics and insight.
  • Strategy Delivery and Transformation Department, which replaces the former Change Portfolio Office; this department provides programme, project and change management support for the University’s portfolio of Strategic Major Projects that make a major contribution to the University achieving its Strategy goals.

This new, strengthened directorate will provide a range of high-quality strategic planning, strategy delivery and transformation services, across the Triple Helix, to help the University achieve its strategic goals. An early priority, in partnership with the Finance department, will be to start the process of reviewing and reforming the strategic business planning process.
