Equality Data Refresh 2024

We are at our best when we understand the diverse needs of our community; accurate, up to date information is vital in helping us ensure fair treatment for every member of our community. We ask that all colleagues take a few minutes to review and refresh their equal opportunities data in the My Details section of the MyView dashboard.

Benefits of having accurate Equal Opportunities data:

  • This helps us understand our staff needs better and enables us to offer enhanced workplace support such as reasonable adjustments. Any staff requiring reasonable adjustments to their work environment or duties should have a discussion with their line manager and record agreed adjustments in MyView.
  • Accurate data allows us to create a more inclusive and diverse workplace culture, fostering an environment where all employees feel valued and respected, regardless of their background or identity. This can lead to increased employee satisfaction and a stronger sense of belonging within the organisation.

The University is committed to its development as a truly inclusive community – one that understands the needs of our staff and students and proactively works to enable a fair environment for all our staff. Equality data helps us make well-informed choices about our policies and how we use our resources, ensuring that our staff are safe and supported and that we meet legal and ethical requirements.

Longer-serving staff? Your details may have changed. By updating, you help paint a genuine picture of our community, which in turn enables better support for everyone.

Support for All:

We recognise the sensitivity of sharing personal information. We are committed to opposing all forms of discrimination, harassment, and bullying, striving to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone. Harassment and bullying are never acceptable in our learning or working spaces, and we encourage those affected to speak out. We provide trained Harassment Contacts for confidential support and guidance on issues related to equality, bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct, and discrimination.
