The Outstanding Alumni Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the incredible achievements of our global alumni community and showcase the impact of a degree from the University of Southampton. These awards help shine a light on those who are making a positive contribution in society or field of work as well as helping inspire current students and raising the profile of our University.

This year, in support of the University’s civic agenda we are delighted to introduce our new Civic Award to recognise the contributions of our alumni to the local region, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This award will be presented to an alumnus/a who has made an outstanding impact on the local economic, social or cultural success of our region.
‘The Outstanding Alumni Awards illuminate the transformative power of education and showcase the remarkable impact Southampton graduates make in the world. I am very supportive of the new Civic Award which recognises the contributions of local alumni who are making an impact and driving positive change in our region. This is a fantastic opportunity to nominate and champion someone from your faculty for their outstanding contributions.’ – Jane Falkingham, VP Engagement and International
There are four categories for the Outstanding Alumni Awards and a total of five Awards to be presented. The categories are:

Winners will be invited to speak at graduation, in a similar capacity to Honorary Graduates, providing an opportunity for them to inspire our graduating students. They will also be invited to attend the Vice Chancellor’s Celebration Dinner in July and winners’ stories are promoted through our alumni channels.
