Delve into alumni data with ODAR’s new dashboard

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR) is delighted to share with University staff its new ‘Alumni Population Explorer’ dashboard.

Put together by ODAR’s Data Insight Team, following last year’s successful implementation of the alumni Customer Relationship Management system (BBCRM), the new dashboard provides an overview of the University’s entire global alumni population – consisting of over 285k living alumni records. Linked to live data, it means you can now have up-to-date alumni market intelligence at the click of a button.

Simple to use, the dashboard includes:

  • Slides outlining Alumni & Supporter Engagement priorities, plans and target audiences, as organised by the central team (ODAR)
  • An intro to the dashboards – how to use them, definitions, and how to request personal data for your own communications, events and activities
  • A number of different tabs – showcasing top level stats, engagement levels, geographical location, age, gender, volunteers, donors, and career information
  • Filters on each tab, so you can dig deeper into the data – including at school/faculty level

There are some amazing insights to be found.  For example, did you know:

  • We can contact over 70% of our alumni population by either email, phone or post
  • We have nearly 90k alumni living within 50 miles of Highfield campus
  • 59% of our alumni aged 18-25 are female, compared to 42% of our over 61s
  • Over 8k alumni have donated to University causes, supporting research or students
  • Over 5k alumni have volunteered their time to support students and/or the wider University

And there are many more interesting facts hidden in the data!

Please enjoy browsing through the dashboards here – Alumni & Supporter Insights.

“We are so excited to share this dashboard and our alumni market data with our colleagues. Engaging our alumni plays a key role in delivering our University strategy – from supporting student recruitment and international campus development plans, through to enriching the student experience and offering career advice/placements. Now, Schools, Faculties and Professional Services can take a closer look at where our alumni are based, what they studied, what jobs they are doing and how to contact them.” Susanna Brenchley, Associate Director, Alumni & Supporter Marketing & Engagement.
